About Us
Welcome to my shop! I’m so happy you’re here! Little story about me; my name is Melissa and I’m a Nutritional Practitioner. The journey of life takes us many places, some planned and some out of the blue. I dabbled with trying to be healthy after the birth of my daughter but didn’t understand much about what our bodies need. Flash forward to the birth of my son and life demanded I learn. When he was just seven days old, I received a call telling me his blood work identified congenital hypothyroidism. I had no idea what that meant, just that he was my baby and I needed to do everything I could to keep him safe. By the time my boy was 2 we were seeing severe expressive and receptive language delays with behavioural and sensory issues. For a year I took an allopathic approach with very little gains until fate would put us in a group with one mom who shared her story of healing with us. Because of her, I started learning about gut health, the effects of food on the body and the role that toxins play. I put my son on a probiotic at three years old and within one week he went from only being able to identify one animal in a book, to all the animals in that book. It was like seeing a ghost. A miracle really. From there I took gluten out of his diet and his language came so fast I couldn’t keep up with writing the new words in the calendar where I kept track of them. Removing dairy meant no more ear infections and behaviours calmed completely. Seeing these incredible changes we moved to a whole foods, plant-based diet removing synthetic ingredients and colour dyes. Today he is a happy, healthy, hilarious neuro-typical teenager who has helped many with the story of his journey. Because of my boy, I went back to school to become a Nutritional Practitioner with a goal of helping him and anyone else I could. And that’s where Wee The Vegan was born! 💕💕💕
